Aramco participates in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), May 20-23 in Salt Lake City, Utah supporting the theme “Bridging Fundamentals and Innovation.” Aramco has a reputation for being at the forefront of advances in geology and offers a unique perspective in petroleum geology with Saudi Arabia having some of the world’s largest basins.
A diamond-level sponsor of the conference and sponsor of AAPG’s Imperial Barrel Award (IBA), the company supports the advancement of professionals in the field and recognition of geoscience students from around the world who compete by analyzing data sets in this prospective basin evaluation competition.
This year an inaugural forum, Super Basins, will be held opening day with Saudi Aramco’s Sa’id Hajri, Manager, Exploration Technical Services, one of the forum’s featured speakers presenting “Basins and Petroleum Systems of the Middle East.” Aramco has several papers on the technical program and will be exhibiting at booth #1127.
