Founded in 1987, the Galveston Bay Foundation’s mission is to preserve, protect, and enhance Galveston Bay through advocacy, conservation, education, and research. The non-profit’s programs help ensure that Galveston Bay, one of the world’s most productive estuaries, remains as productive and beautiful in the future as it is today.
We contribute to the Foundation’s objective of restoring the eco-balance in Galveston's wetlands through a variety of programs. Currently we support the Oyster Shell Recycling Program, which focuses on oyster reefs destroyed during hurricanes. Restoration activities include oyster gardening, reef construction, and shell recycling.
