Houston Habitat for Humanity announced that longtime partner Aramco Services Company, the US subsidiary of Saudi Aramco headquartered in Houston, has donated $3.7 million to support the full rebuild of 176 homes in Harrel Park and Greensbrook communities.
“As we continue working toward recovery following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, support from our partners is critical in rebuilding strong communities,” said Allison Hay, Habitat for Humanity Executive Director. “We are so thankful to Aramco Services for answering our call for help! We arehumbled that they have been our partner for the last 13 years andwill continue to be.”
The donation from Aramco Services will enable Houston Habitat for Humanity to provide mold certifications, appliances, HVACs, contractor support and a variety of other repairs to the 176 homes.
“We are Houstonians ourselves and were out in Harrel Park volunteering after Harvey,” said Aramco Services Chief Executive Officer and President Basil Abul-Hamayel. “Seeing such devastation, we knew immediately that we wanted to do something significant to help, so we worked with the Houston Habitat team to make sure every single homeowner that was affected by Harvey will have their homes repaired by the end of 2017.”
The first set of homes is expected to be ready for move-in by families in November, and all repairs are expected to be complete by December 31, 2017.
